Overview
With 16 offices and wind and solar projects in more than 1,000 municipal districts across Spain and Portugal, Capital Energy has a role in the entire renewable energy generation value chain of the region. To support its digital transformation, the company required a partner that could help manage the complexity of its converged IT-OT (operational technology) environment, increase cybersecurity, and support the company’s Google Cloud footprint.
Capital Energy selected the Fortinet Security Fabric as the platform to build its new networking and security capabilities. The Security Fabric includes a Fortinet SD-Branch solution, which leverages a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) architecture to connect and secure remote locations. Meanwhile, FortiSwitch Ethernet Switches and FortiAP wireless access points provide connectivity for all Capital Energy’s industrial control systems. The solution’s centralized management provides broad visibility and control. The Fortinet Security Fabric today underpins secure, cloud-based, digital innovation at Capital Energy and is helping to unlock new business opportunities through IT-OT convergence.
